The quilting community is so wonderful to be a part of. In the wake of a very tragic event, the Orlando Modern Quilt Guild organized to make quilts for the victims and families of those involved in the shooting. Click on the Orlando MQG link if you would like more details on how to participate.
Alissa from the Orlando MQG suggested using the Heart Block tutorial by Cluck Cluck Sew in the 10″ size and a bright rainbow palate. I raided my scrap bin and this is what I came up with; the hearts sew up in no time. Hopefully these quilts can provide some emotional comfort.
Cheers,
Amanda
Gorgeous blocks for a great cause …. I have just written down the sizes to make some up and send to someone in London who will forward them to the OMQG.

Good job of getting right to work and completing these blocks. I hope to have a quilt to ship soon, too. It’s a tangible reminder that there are so many caring, loving people in our world.

Thank you Marla! These blocks come together in no time and it’s such a wonderful way to feel as though I am doing something when I can’t do anything.

I saw these come up on your instagram feed. Now that they’re popping up all over the place I’m inspired to sew a few myself. Love your fabric choices
